CGFNS preparation

I am not sure which state that you are planning on working in, but most no longer require the CGFNS exam, only a credentials evaluation done by them.

You are able to take the NCLEX exam now in either Hong Kong or London.

If you are set in taking that exam, once you register for the exam, they will send you a study guide to use to prepare. The questions on that exam are completely different from what is on the NCLEX exam.

what is it mean? is it mean CGFNS test will be closed because there are NCLEX-rn test center in out side the U.S. such as hong kong, soul, london and others contries for next years?

btw i intend to take cgfns on July 2006 through NY. I am going to start my study because i just pass the ielts. Suzana can you help me, what is the first step do do? what materials (book and cd) do i have to study?

in questions, what is the diffrentiation nclex-rn test and cgfns?

NY does not require the CGFNS exam, and for NY you do not need to take that exam, only the NCLEX-RN is required. You are totally wasting time if you are going to work in NY.

NY only requires the Credentials Verification, a special one only for them called the CVS, and then they will give you permission to write the NCLEX-RN exam, and you will need the English exams, but definitely do not even think about the CGFNS exam if you are working in NY. It is just a waste of your money and your time, it is not needed.

NCLEX-RN is the licensing exam for any RN to work in the US, including American nurses. All nurses must take this exam to work in any of the states in the country.

CGFNS exam was designed as a screening exam about 25 years ago. At the time, hospitals were finding that not all of the nurses that they brought over could pass the licnesing exam for the state, back then each state had their own exam and the nurse ended up staying here for three years working as a nursing asst. It was quite expensive at the top to just fly someone over for the NCLEX exam.

Now that it is being offered in more countries, I think that even fewer states will actually require it. The newer way is to just require a credentials eval.
