Hello Everyone! I recently started at a private practice clinic in Nebraska. My employer is willing to contribute to my CEU required to renew my license, however they would like me to research what a reasonable amount is per year. Prior to working in private practice I worked in a hospital setting. The hospital provided many CEU opportunities free of cost. I was wondering how much other employers contribute to continuing education. I am a BSN RN for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Other than when they actually provide some CEU activities, I've never had an employer who paid for them.
What are the requirements for your state?
You can get many approved CEUs for free and if not, for little cost if you look into it...

Like the other poster, I've never heard of an employer giving money specifically for license renewal CEU requirements, but many that offer "continuing education" funds. One hospital I worked at gave every nurse $500 towards continuing education, and it could be used to purchase airfare/hotel to go to annual conferences, etc.
My current facility is union, and it offers all nurses anywhere from $350-1600/year, depending on how many hours you worked the previous fiscal year.
