Hi,
Has anyone here experienced getting the full education report from a service provider other than CGFNS? The Illinois board, for example, has two other accredited service providers that conduct the CES. These are the Education Records Evaluation Service Inc. and the International Education Research Foundation Inc.
Does anybody here have experience dealing with these two organizations? Do these two providers process applications faster than the CGFNS? I'm assuming that the CGFNS processes much more applications than the other two. Is my assumption correct? Given that I would only apply for a license in Illinois, would I miss out on anything if I applied for a CES report from another agency outside the CGFNS?
Suzanne, would you have any feedback on the two service providers?
Thank you.

The biggest issue that I have is that most other states that want the CES report want only that...........and they will not accept the others. Same thing with the state of Florida, they have a couple that they accept, but no others do...........so if for chance that you end up needting to endorse to another state, you will be back to square one...............and I hate seeing money thrown out for no reason.
You are in the Philippines, if I am not mistaken, you are going to be affected by the retrogression starting in the next few weeks........Take the time to do things right, and not trying a shortcut, they only come back to bite you in the butt in the long run.
Thanks Suzanne. I've taken your advise about not going through the shortcuts. Most of my previous questions were about Vermont or about states that process applications the quickest, but now I've just focused on getting a license in Illinois-- making sure I submit all the appropriate requirements and have my application processed in the most efficient way. I don't mean looking for workarounds or finding shortcuts, rather I'd like to find the least problematic way of getting my papers processed.
I do understand that other states may only require the CES from CGFNS, but considering that I would only use my CES for the state of Illinois and nowhere else, would there be some disadvantage or advantage to filing with other service providers outside CGFNS? Aside from CGFNS, the Illinois Board of Nursing also accepts the CES report from two other providers: the Education Records Evaluation Service and the International Education Research Foundation.
My concern right now is that there is probably a huge volume of applicants going through CGFNS. I don't have any idea how the two other service providers work that's why I'm hoping somebody from the list could give me any feedback.
You're right about the looming retrogression and I know you must be thinking that choosing between CGFNS or the other service providers is immaterial because of the impending retrogression. But retrogression or not, I would still have to go through the process of applying for a CES report for the state of Illinois, so any feedback or information about all the possible service providers will still be invaluable to me.
I'm really grateful for all the help you've given me and to all of the other people in the bulletin board. I hope you won't give up on us anytime soon. Thanks.

The issue that I focus on is that many states only want the CES report. If you decide to move for any reason and not work in Illinois, then you will need to go thru the CES process again................it makes no sense at all to do that. Even Florida uses other outside agencies, but not the same that Illinois uses, and it just causes more issue down the road.
If you are asking for my opinion, I would only say to go via the CES route...
Thank you, Suzanne. God bless.
