After you graduate with your FNP, can you get more certifications? This is probably a dumb question lol but I'm just wondering (I want to go in to infectious diseases/ epidemiology).
There are definitely specialty certifications that you can get at the APRN level. I am now aware of any specific to ID and could not find any on a google search. Did find the CBIC certification but that is more infection control.
Go to the ANCC website. They provide a lot of certifications for RNs. Additionally, they list all of the certifications you can get as a NP. Such as Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Each certification has requirements such as hours practiced in the field you are seeking certification in.
