Hey all,
As some of you know, I went to the oral surgeon yesterday to finish preparation for a denture. Anyway, I am curious as to why the pain medicine he gave me makes me sleepy. He gave me lortab 7.5, and said I could take two if pain was bad. I took 2 within 45 minutes of each other yesterday and it flat out knocked me out. Just curious.

thanks.
I am trying to think,, do I have anything to say about pain managment. ummmmm............ no not really I ususally just give em what ever they want. even if they are "addicts" wich is not likely and very subjective. I am not going to cure them in three days anyway.
bad attitude?
oh and this..... I spent a week in hosp in feb with pacreatitis yeeesh. and now I know what pain is. my lipase was 13000 . a little bit of morphine had me ralphing up bile in about 8.4 seconds so they went directly to diuldid yeeeeee haaaaaaa I know I didnt' spell that right. umm how about hydromorphone yes much easier. anyway, I love that stuff. for pain I mean. .2 mg is all it took and instant relife was mine. and this after an entire night of pacing and wishing I were dead.
one thing about being in a hospital for a week. you learn how bad a nurse you are. you know how you have those seemingly young and spry patients that just can't push themselves up in bed. I used to always think " what a sissy, are you serious? you cant even bend you knees and move a little in bed" well, once I was the sissy I knew how this was happening. I was guarding my gut the entier night and day before by flexing my abs and obliques. so by day 2 I was so sore from lactic acid I could barley turn over on my own. oh well bla bla bla bla.. who cares anyway.
