I'm only just beginning my journey towards becoming a nurse, with my ultimate goal being pursuing a career as a CRNA or NP. My question is, what is the demand for CRNA's in the Los Angeles area? I currently live in Venice CA and never plan on moving out of this area, so I am limited geographically as to where I can practice if I become a CRNA. I've looked on gaswork and other job sites, and there aren't as many jobs in LA as I would've hoped compared to other cities in the country (particularly the Midwest). Do any of you have any experience with the job market forCRNA's in the LA area?
Thanks for your help!

Still plenty of jobs to be had in SoCal. Between Kaisers many, many hospitals, and the USC Hospitals, and the UCLA hospitals, and the VA. There are less in LA than other midwest places, principally because in most of CA, anesthesiologists actually do their own cases. There is very little ACT practices compared to other areas in the country, where they predominate.

Limit the amount of money you borrow to attend a program. If you are limited in you job search to a desirable area, you probably will be at the lowwer end of salary with your first job. That's fine as long as you don't have big student loan payments.
