Requirements for specific jobs are listed in the job listing. Generally, CNAs who work in hospitals are required to have some skills that are more advanced than those required for nursing home work. The CNA in the hospital may be doing accuchecks or preparing a patient for an EKG. Tasks not normally done in the long term care facility. Of course, the employer would prefer that the CNA already have experience but may offer to provide training for anything beyond what one was taught in their CNA course. If your local community college has an acute care CNA course available, it is a good idea to take it to prepare for hospital jobs.
