Certification pay

In our hospital there is not a differential but we do pay a bonus for certification and re-certification. We reimburse for the cost of the exam after you pass as well as travel expenses (we are very rural). Some CEUs are reimbursed as well that are applied to recertification.

We don't pay differential, but certifications count as points for the clinical ladder, which does pay the nurse more.

We get a 4% raise for certification.

We do not receive raises for some certs (ACLS, PALS, TNCC), not sure about CEN (but doubt it).

Other hospitals around here do offer bonuses though.

I think because all of our nurses are expected to get those certs (except CEN) might have something to do with why we don't get bonuses.

I don't mind. I want the education. Plus, when DH graduates nursing school, we're probably moving to a more rural area, and the certs will def help me get ahead quicker at my new job.

My hospital pays something like $ .50/hr. for CEN certification, and partial reimbursement for taking the test. It also helps w/advancement on the clinical ladder.

We don't get paid for having (APLS, TNCC, ACLS, ) but they pay for our certification.

Professional certification results in a 5% increase in your base salary & and reimbursement of the exam fee.

Merit for credentials such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP is also reflected in your base salary. Areas are divided into different levels of specialty depending on what "letters" are required in the area. We also provide these courses onsite or pay to send someone offsite.

In our ER, you get 35c/hr for CCRN or CEN. The hospital also pays for your exam after you pass.

No other certifications rceive a bonus.

BSN or MSN is $1/hr.

That's it.........

We are reimbursed for the exam if we pass.... ICU and ED recieve $1.10 hr specialty pay. We like to call it critical care pay.
