Central IV Access and CT Dye

Does anyone know the name of a brand of PortaCath that one can use with the high speed CT IV contrast injection? I have been told that there is one.

I am aware that you can use the purple PowerPICC to instill CT IV contrast, but have never heard of a port being used with the high speed injector.

You can't use an infusaport with CT contrast. Figured this out the other day when they came to get our pt, then said "Oops, can't take him. Needs a PIV" :angryfire He has a port for a reason- he has crap for veins!!!! After a few sticks someone got a 22 right proximal to his thumb. -Andrea
