I'm currently in Fayetteville, still undecided about if I should stay in NC or go to Atlanta to go to school. I hadn't heard anything about Central Carolina college, usually the students are talk to apply to Fayetteville State or Fayetteville Tech.
I checked NCBON's site and saw the pass rate for the NCLEX being 100%- so now my interest is really peaked! So I started this thread for any inside information....

I am currently in the program now, just my first semester though. I know that they did have a 100% pass rate this year, but most of the teachers have changed in the last year or two. I haven't formed a good opinion yet of the program. It is really tough, but that is what you will hear about any nursing program. I would definitely suggest getting your A&Ps out of the way before starting the program, that makes double work if you have to take them at the same time.
If I can give you further info, just ask.

Thanks Kathie! I definitely plan to get as much out of the way as possible. Please be sure to come back and write how you feel about the program and faculty further down the road.
Good Luck!

I am a second year student at FTCC. First, I would suggest not to go to FSU at this point b/c they are on probation and their pass rate last year was BAD! You can find out more info. by going to fayetteville observer online ( it was all over the news and in the papers). Our program is very tough.I am in my fourth semester and this has been by far the WORST!!! Of course NS is hard, but our instructors have it tough right now b/c there are soo many students and not enough staff. It is not hard to get accepted, as long as most of your prereq.'s are completed, you will probably get in. As the previous poster said, make sure u complete ALL ur classes prior to starting. We had several students taking A&P along with nursing and only 1 passed ( and she is single with no children). First year is hard, but when you hit 2nd yr. there is more responsibility, ALOT more paperwork (it would take me 10 hrs. to complete my med-surg clinical paperwork weekly for 6 wks.), and the testing is on a totally different level. I am not saying all this to discourage you, but to just give you info. My friend started NS b4 me and prepared me for the work ahead. There are many changes that the school and BON are looking into for the future classes.Central Carolina has an awesome pass rate(100% for the past 4 yrs. I believe) and I have heard good things about Sandhills. You can go to the NCBON to view the pass rates for the past 5 years.FTCC ADN program did not have a 100% pass rate this pass year.In fact, not all students have taken the NCLEX. So far the pass rate is good, but its not 100% The program is also what you make it.I have met many good friends, I have been involved with class functions, and I try to have fun and enjoy this expierence.Regardless of where you go, it will be hard.I feel if it werent, something is wrong, and you may not pass NCLEX or be prepared as a new grad.I honestly would not like to be spoon fed, I want to pass the NCLEX and have a good foundation when I graduate.Good Luck with Nursing school! I am sure you will be sucessful with any program you choose!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I plan on finishing every single pre-req no matter which school I attend- I don't want to make NS more difficult than need be.
Do you find the instructors to be supportive when you need help or are they busy trying to weed students out because they have too many?
I had already learned about FSU's status since I saw the NC NCLEX site. Also there was a thread on it here. It seems like they still haven't gotten things together. A while ago I knew someone who went to UNC Pembroke and I was also surprised to see that program isn't doing well either!
I know Pinehurst (Sandhills CC) isn't that far from Fayetteville- but the 84% pass rate worried me. Maybe they have been doing better recently?
