Hi all! Taking the CEN (certified emergency nurse) exam tomorrow! Drop a little morsel of information that you think is important to know for exam. It can be anything!
e.g.: abdominal aortic dissection is caused by damage to the intimal layer of aorta, can result in lack of blood flow and therefore ischemia to distal extremities. HTN is greatest risk factor.
e.g.: atropine for RSI in peds d/t risk for bradycardia.
e.g.: NSTEMI: EKG changes include ST depression or T-wave abnormalities, positive troponin.
Agree with this. Just wanted to add; if you're testing tomorrow, you need to relax tonight. You're either going to pass or fail based upon what you've done up til noe, and "hitting you with some knowledge" isn't going to matter.
My post was not a substitute for exam prep. I've been using Sheehy's ER Nurse Manual and I've been reviewing Mark Boswell videos on YouTube. I thought it'd be interesting to see info other nurses had to share but clearly it did not produce the desired results. Thanks for replying.
