Cellular/Molecular Biology

Published

Hello future nurses!!! I'm currently taking cellular/molecular biology this semester and took the test last week. I got my test score back and the score wasn't that good. I received 68/100 which is a D. I must admit that the test was pretty difficult or maybe I didn't study hard enough. Any suggestions for this class?!?! Thanks and hopefully I will hear from you guys.

Specializes in EMT-P.

erm...study harder? Really, you need to evaluate yourself and what caused you trouble, how can we know what you had problems with? Perhaps if you offered us a little insight into what areas of this course you are having a hard time with, then maybe a more appropriate solution than the one I gave above can be given :)

Why are you taking this course? Sounds advanced for most nursing curriculums. Biology usually is not required for nursing; if it is a prerequisite for any of the nursing courses, such as anatomy, only the intro bio or bio for allied health sciences is required. I would drop this course if not required by your program and you see trouble bringing up your grade.

Yeah, you are so right! I need to find out what I'm having problems with, thanks!

Because it is required to take cellular/molecular biology. I mean, it was my first test for this semester.

Cell biology was required for me to take as well. Use ratemyprofessor.com to find an instructor that works for your learning style. Good luck

If you have to take the class, then you are stuck, unless you can drop and take it with a different instructor, if that would help. You need to meet with the instructor and get some help now, while you can do something about the situation. Don't make the mistake of waiting until the last exam, when it is pretty much too late.

Wow, thank you for the motivation lol! I don't think you should discourage someone you don't even know. Now, it is never too late. I'm going to keep my head up and will ignore your negativity.

I did go to ratemyprofessor.com and that's why I picked this professor because they said she's an excellent teacher and I believed them. She's not a bad teacher at all. The professor's brother has passed away and she's going thru some rough time.

cell and molecular bio is HARD. your performance in a class like this has nothing to do with the professor - at the end of the day, it's one of these basic science classes that requires you to memorize most of a textbook.

i wouldn't waste time looking for shortcuts/advice/etc around here. sit down and start memorizing stuff ! good luck on your next exam.

Realism is not negativity. Announcing one failed the first test in a course is negativity. Studying normally helps.

I didn't fail the test. I had a D, a high D which is two points away from a C duh!!!!!! Read the post again, thanks!
