Nurses Residency

Updated:   Published

Hi all,

Just starting a thread for the Cedars Feb 2023 cohort ?

Good luck to everyone!

Hello again, I just wanted to ask if anyone has been able to create a facebook group for this cohort? because I was planning to move closer to Cedars and it would be nice to have a roommate from this program! Thank you.

Hello!

I wanted to ask if anyone knows when the next cohort application will be?? thank you in advance for your response!

Probably late April or early May. They do it every 3 months. Make sure you sign up for the  job alerts and get all your materials ready to go because once the applications open up, it's only open until they have 200 applications, which can sometimes only take a few hours. Good luck!

Thank you ? Do you happen to know if we should upload a cover letter with our application? or is the personal statement seen as similar to a cover letter?

Yes, I think a cover letter is optional. Your personal statement can serve as a cover letter

Thank you for your help!

@skyblue2121 Do you happen to have any advice for the types of questions they asked during your interview? Do you remember what questions they asked you? I feel like I am overwhelmed with searching what possible questions they may ask and have a long laundry list of them. Any help would be appreciated.

I would love to know more about the cedars-Sinai interview too. I got an email for an interview.

Hi there!
You got this! Well, my interview was for the OR, so it was specific to that department. Mostly things like knowing the role of a circulating nurse and a scrub nurse, and seeing if we were passionate about that department.

But for other departments, they may ask you about yourself and how you became interested in nursing. Maybe have a story ready about a time where you went above and beyond for a patient, and then be prepared to answer some clinical questions like about how you would prioritize something or what you would do if you walked into a room and saw a patient struggling to breathe. What would be the first, second, and third things you would do. it may be department specific, like if you are interviewing for the ICU or telemetry, etc. if it's telemetry they might ask you how you would interpret a certain heart rhythm. they are just trying to get a feel for your interests and attitude. I hope that helps!

Hi thank you for your info. I applied for the OR unit but the recruiter said it doesn't take additional new grad. Do you know what acuity adaptable unit is? What kind of patient does it serve? The website doesn't say much about it. Thank you
