Good answer? Sign In JustCuriousMom 1 Post I found your thread here and thought you might be able to answer a question that has been nagging me for a while. What causes some stools to smell like perming lotion/hair remover? I have run into this one with family and always wondered.

Good answer? Sign In haco 1 Post excuse me, i know its an old thread and the board is mainly for nurses... but i have a gross odor question that i hope you all can help me with as i know it's got to be related to some kind of internal sickness. in the last few months i have noticed at times a pungent "spoiled raw hamburger" smell about my father. i've spent hours trying to find an answer for this smell, which is how i've come to your board. i hope someone will respond with their experience with this smell-- i am not looking for DX, i am only trying to learn what others have learned in their own experience. it would help me better know how to approach him about it, because i'm concerned it may be a sign of something going very wrong internally. Dad is 79, type 2 diabetic with some level of kidney failure, and he just passed another round of kidney stones. i think the smell shows up around his periodic attacks of kidney stones. he's also not eating well for his condition, for at least the past couple months he's opted mostly for those liquid meal replacement drinks. i don't know why he's skipping meals suddenly but i am worried. i think knowing what the smell might be about could help me better understand. please, i hope someone will find my question resonates with an experience they are willing to share here. btw-- i too know that C.Diff smell, my sister in law had it in the hospital when she was dying of cancer. Nastiest piggy/sour chicken barnyard smell ever, with the colour to match!! i about fell out of my chair laughing at all your descriptions - Yech!!

He does have a bad tooth in the back but it still seems really bad. Should i be concerned? The other thing is one of his mothers friends were here one time and she went number 2 i never smelled anything like it, it was awful. what should i do? Move? lol

Good answer? Sign In Deborah021959 3 Posts Hi Pom Pom:I have a roommate I just moved in with he is 21 and his mother died with C diff at Chippenham Hospital in richmond Va about 5 months ago, now I moved in here, he is my roommate. im concerned, his breath is terrible, he denies diarrhea, we share a bathroom so im very concerned. He does have a bad tooth that could be making his breath bad, but what im smelling is really bad. He was sittng next to me in the car and i could smell something awful when he turned to talk to me. What should i do? I am looking for another place now. We do share a bathroom. I wipe everything down with Bleach comet and moved my personal stuff all into my room. What is the best test he can get to test for this? He is uninsured at the moment? One place Health First told him 300.00 plus dollars.
