CCRN Review

Ok... So I am finally getting serious about sitting for my CCRN. I am interested in the Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio tapes but have a couple questions.

Has anyone used them? Liked them? Found them helpful?

I have found them for sale new for $150. Ouch! I want Ms. Gasparis to get her money, but that's a lot for 12 hours of VHS tapes. I never see them for sale used. Assuming it's legal to buy them used (seems like you can sell any other video), does anyone know where to buy them? Amazon and Barnes and Noble don't have them.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I got mine from Ebay!

You might do an internet search for a program that guarantees you will pass. That's what I did when I decided to take the exam. I've posted my response to this same question before. Review courses are expensive and for me, I liked knowing the program carried this kind of guarantee.

I have the CCRN review VHS tapes from Vonfrolio (above link), I wish I had ordered DVD's at the time. They are very well done, easy tricks and mnemonics are offered, Laura Vonfrolio is bright, animated and down to earth.

One of my resolution for this year is to be studious and pass the CCRN test. I might attend a seminar from Vonfrolio too.

I found on-line these flash cards at CCRN exam review increases CCRN practice test scores from CCRN registration to CCRN test date

yes, they seem well done but very expensive 90$. Anyone having other suggestions?

I'll check E-Bay and pray a friend would give me the audio or DVD's for my birthday! Ha!:balloons:

I got both the Vonfrolio and AACN DVD sets on Ebay recently. The Vonfrolio series was hard to find on Ebay. I put in an "Ebay want it now" request and waited about 2 months before a set came in to bid on.

My New Year's Resolution.....take CCRN in the next six months and pass first time!

I have her tapes for both CCRN and CEN and used them all through nursing school - I still give those tapes credit for how well I did. Only a few months after I became an ER nurse, I sat for and passed the CEN - again, I credit her tapes. Lord, I must have them memorized by now LOL!

Even my poor husband has half of them memorized... "sit down! Today is your lucky day!" He now says that all the time LOL.

Also, when I was in leadership for nursing school, I had to interview a nurse, and via email, Laura allowed me to interview her - she's like my hero LOL!
