I figured I would start this topic to lower my anxiety just a little. I took the health allied test today and I have to wait till next week to get my scores. I really feel like im on pins and needles right now and I know I'll be a nervous wreck when I actually wait for my acceptance. Before I even got started on my journey to be a nurse I came across this website and It really answered a lot of questions about the application process, and was insightful in other areas of nursing that enabled me to think of more questions for answering. what I really love the most was that in previous years ccp applicants supported each other during the nerve wrecking waiting period on getting accepted. that support was so tremendous that a lot of the applicants bonded and became friends. Is there anyone else that has applied for the 2014 CCP program?
I saw it and went straight to Amazon to check prices. The prices aren't too bad. They are within the range of a normal CCP textbook. The problem is that you have to buy so many and then you may want to also get the recommended texts.
I did the same thing. The prices are better than I thought they would be. I guess I will chisel away at the list starting now because collectively the total price could be overwhelming.
I got most of them now, but I am worried because I have the e-books version. I have been using e-books since pre-reqs nursing era and I did well. However, I can't compare the amount of studying back then to the upcoming because I definitely know that it will 3x that. IDK if I should buy the hard copies too.
Also, IDK why the professors said that we will be using them for 2 years when I just compared the book list last year to this year and it is quite different and mostly because of newer editions. Therefore I don't know if we will buy books for newer edition in our second year.
Hey everyone! I'm starting my prereqs at ccp and was wondering what exactly should I take before applying? Also, is it better to take the extra prereqs at ccp instead of penn? What does everyone's weekly schedule look like? Thanks for the advice
My suggestion is to follow the list from the CCP Nursing site (except the Nursing classes). I did this and now I will only be take nursing classes this Fall. Back in the orientation day, I saw several people who still have to take 3-4 more classes plus Nursing classes. I think that is too much to handle. Also, I suggest o take as much classes as you can that are transferable to Penn. It will save you the years and money. I took Dev. Psych because I heard that it is needed in most 4 year Uni. Nursing programs (if you want to get you BSN).
As for weekly schedule, I don't know yet because I haven't started my classes. But to be brief, it goes M-T I have Lecture Lab and Seminar and on TH and F I have clinicals.
