Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has received their acceptance letters for the fall 2012 program yet and if so how many points did you have?
Im really hoping everything goes together as well. can you imagine if we cover different things in lecture, lab, and seminar?i think i have the syllabus for nursing 101 that someone sent me from last year. i'll have to look at it and see, but then again who knows if they will follow the same syllabus as they did last year. i'll let you guys know.
Yeah definitely let us know if you do have the syllabus from last year. It would be nice to have an idea of what to expect even if it doesn't follow it exactly. Do you recall when they sent that email out about additional clinical hours? I check my email everyday in hopes of getting something. I live 2-3miles from Holy Redeemer and it would work out so nicely if I could get the evening hours there, especially since its where I am delivering my baby. I was thinking how awful it would be to go into labor during class/clinicals and be all the way in the city. Could you imagine "oops.. i gotta go, my water just broke" lol
As far as the alternate clinical times, i got the email on 9-13 last year, so im guessing it comes out the second week of class. I also have the syllabus from last year. its 86 pages! lol. its a microsoft word document and i cant figure out how to upload it on here so if anyone wants it, send me a pm with your email and i will email it to you. from what i can tell lecture and seminar talk about totally different things. I copied and pasted this:

So I'm confused... we have to attend classes on thursday and friday even prior to clinicals starting? Because we were told clinicals didn't start until 6 weeks into the semester, I didn't make arrangements for a babysitter on thursdays and fridays until mid-October. Now I'm freaking out.

yeah it looks like the first 5-6 weeks we have ACE--Alternate Clinical Experience, in which we have to go to campus to practice the assessment skills we will use when we do our hospital clinicals.
Did they tell us this at orientation? Nothing in clinical class registration or the orientation packet talks about that. Under the registration for classes it says starting 9/4-12/15 the place shows as OUT and time TBA. How are we supposed to know what time and where we are supposed to go? Thats pretty messed up. I was not expecting to have to go down to main campus 4 days a week, this is ridiculous that nowhere in our packet does it talk about that. I don't know what I'm going to do.
i dont remember them telling us about it at orientation. unfortunately, it has been my experience with ccp that they tend to leave things out, give you the runaround, or lose your paperwork. lol. you may just want to double check with the nursing department. maybe they've changed things since last year?? i really hope it works out for you.
Yeah I had my daughter scheduled for full-time but when I found out we didn't have clinicals right away I asked my sitter if I could bring her part-time to save money. She agreed. I'm sure she will be fine with me changing it back to full-time..she'll get more money..lol it just means i gotta come up with more money.

That was what I was thinking when I picked the color. I kept reading stories from people about stethoscopes disappearing that I figured why not get something I know I'll like and will be less likely to leave with someone else.
