 I'm going to be taking the CCM Exam for the first time this Fall, and would like to hear from those who have taken it; i.e. what study materials (if any), did you find useful, and which areas of the test were the hardest? Thanks!:wink2:

to mountaintop7...thanks for the advise and encouragement...appreciated...my co-worker took the exam 12/04 she said alot of common sense......the first couple of questions set the groundwork for you....they can be time consuming so give it the best and go forward......dont look at the clock and do not ck any.... always answer the question.....they try to stump you in the first part so you slow down.....

I was told to keep my head above the psychologic influence the test producers try to evoke so you fail....i tell you this is going to be a real test for me........:uhoh3:

My dtr in law took the same exam in another state...she is a nurse for 5 yrs ...2 yrs cm position.......did not study....aced it..... now u tell me...........

well will let u know how i do .........

gmatrish,

I too am 50+, with many years of nursing exp. Again, I say to you, You can do this. Relax, exhale. Read each question, read each choice, then choose an answer.

Have Faith, with God, all things are possible. You can do this.:yeah:

to mountaintop7 thank you so much again for the support...just finished studying...started 6pm now 9:43 pm est.....good to hear from a 50+ person ..... I am praying as hard as i can...have to laugh my dad used to call it panic prayer.......last minute soul searching before the big kill!!!!! glad i have this support...

talk later bless all gmatrish

I'm taking my test in less than 3 hours and I'm so nervous! I don't feel anywhere near prepared, I hear it's a lot of common sense, but the Medicare/medicade and HIPPA information is all new to me. I hear this is a majority of the test...how can that be common sense then. UGH! I can't wait for this to be over!!! :uhoh3:

I hear you. I take mine on Monday and have been consumed with this test. I am a horrible test taker. I study it and think I know it then have crappy recall. I just want to get on with my life..Please let me know how it was. Best of luck and THINK POSITIVE!! Im off to study vocational rehab one more time.

LAst yer this time, i was singing the blues because i did not pass my CCM. The report said i was 4 points off. I am so glad.. On this date, i took my test and I PASSED!!!! I am thankful that the test is scored right away- so i would not be stressed like I was earlier this year when i got my results.!!!! Thank you

talia1169 - Well I just got home....PASSED!! :yeah:

Trust me, this is a test you really CAN'T study for. It seems everything I looked at was not on the test. I had a lot of questions about Medicare, managed care, one was about Disability act and a patient with AIDS, another was about abuse and what the characteristic of abuse is or something like that. I did have a questions about 80/20, which I NEVER heard of. I had so many of the questions marked to go back and look at, it was so overwhelming.

I thought for sure it was going to say I failed, but I was pleasantly surprised. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!! Keep us updated!!!

Congrats to you Demi RN!!!! It's such a huge sigh of relief. I got in my car and cried my eyes out! I had flashbacks from taking the boards!

Well congratulations to both of you. I hope I can say the same on Monday afternoon. When the computer shuts off does it give u your score right then or do you go back out front and it prints. Well was it common sense do you think?:clown::lol2::yeah:

hi all congrats to all that passed take mine tomorrow 12/11/2010.....

been studying since april 2010 for this and seems like i cant remember anything.....

tommorrow is the true test....ya think after 30+ yrs i shoul d know something....:)

bless all gmatrish

I had taken a certification review course which was way more information than the exam tested on. I spent a lot of time learning the federal laws and legislation that affects case managers. Took the exam last week (passed) and felt it wasn't difficult if the test taker knew hospital case management lingo. Know the terms on the web site, vocational rehab principles, and ethics. Good Luck to all :)

I screamed so loud!!! i was jumping for joy... :yeah:

talia1169,

At the end of the test, you will have a short survey. Then a box that says Prometrics shows up with a wait sign shows up. dont get nervous, it will take some time to load. then A CCM notice will come up and it will say PASS.
