CCGA BSN Program Question

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys!

So, I just submitted both my ASN and BSN applications to the College of Coastal Georgia for the Fall 2016 semester. I just would like everyone's honest opinion on if I have any chance of getting in-my GPA isn't the best-a 3.23, and my overall HESI score is an 88.4% (92% bio, 80% A&P, 88% math, 92% reading comprehension, and 90% vocabulary). I have gotten all As and Bs in my sciences, except for a C in microbiology. I would prefer to get into the BSN over the ASN, but my advisor said to apply to both, so I would have a better chance of getting in. Any of your opinions or advice would be much appreciated! Thank you ☺️

Thanks.... I have my undergrad in healthcare management... And a masters in human nutrition... I've always wanted to be in the healthcare field it just took me a little longer to figure out how to put it all together... :)

Do any of you know how many students they accept for the BSN program each year??

I want to say 60 because the registration online showed 60 seats for each class. But I could be totally wrong.

I submitted my application around the 24th of March and still haven't heard anything. I have all A's and B's and my GPA is a 3.49 and I got an 89% on the HESI. I do not currently go to CCGA so should my chances of getting in still be good?

Gtgitl125 ... I think your chances seem pretty good.... It hasn't been that long... Someone earlier said it took about 5 weeks to recieve their acceptance.. You should be hearing something soon!!! Did you apply for the ADN or BSN..

So I submitted my Application for the BSN on April 1st .. I have 3.5 GPA... I got a cumulative score of an 88 on the Hesi... However, I got a 76 in anatomy... I turned my app in anyway... About a week later they emailed me and told me that they got my packet and all I need to do is come and take that section over.... That only gave me about a week to study... On this past Friday I retook the anatomy portion and scored an 88 (thank the lord!!!!)... So now I'm waiting patiently for this letter...

I feel like your chances are pretty good. It took my letter 5 weeks but now that I think about it it was only about 3 1/2-4 bc we did have spring break. You should hear something by the end of the month.

Any advice for the Hesi on what to expect? Bio, Chem, and math

It really isn't too bad. Get the evolv elsevier study book it's the exact same for the test. Math is super easy so is biology. Reading you just have to focus and try and not get bored. Revuew anatomy section they literally use everything in that book.

I hope so I still haven't heard anything yet though and it will be four weeks today since I submitted hopefully hear something by next week then.

CCGA didn't require me to take the Chemistry section, but the math section in the Elsevier Admission Assessment Exam Review (3rd Edition) was spot on with what is con the HESI. Study that book and you will do fine in math! The biology section in that book is also pretty good, but I do suggest reviewing from an old biology book as well. I felt like the HESI biology questions were more detailed than what is covered in the book. It's more of a broad review. I hope that helps, and good luck to you!

Hi! I honestly wouldn't worry too much. Everything looks good to me and I feel like you have a good chance at getting in. The original due date of the nursing applications was I believe February 28th, (which is when I submitted my application), so I'm assuming those who turned their applications in then have the first pick. I can tell you that I had to have all my records turned in by Thursday, so I think what they are doing is waiting for the people who have already been accepted to turn in all of their required forms by the due date. After they get everyone's forms in, they will most likely see how many more open spots are left and then fill them. I hope that eases your mind some! Hope to see you in the fall. (:

Yea I was just worried my friend who's a guy got a letter yesterday and his GPA is wayyyy lower than mine his was a 3.1 and it just worried me that I might not have gotten in because we sent in our applications at the same time.

Please keep me updated on when you get your letter because I'm in the exact same boat as you. I had submitted my application back in February and they told me I had to take the Biology part of the HESI to be considered for admissions. So I took the HESI Friday, April 15th and the lady I spoke to said that the committee was going to re-review my application the next week. So last week they should have reviewed my application and now I'm waiting on a letter to come in the mail.
