CCF or UH

Published

Hi, I need some advice as a new grad. I recently started orientation at UH on a cancer floor. I know in a year I want to switch to Rainbows to work in pediatrics. I recently got a call from cleveland clinic for an interview at their PICU and I don't know if I should take the interview. I dont want to burn a bridge with UH but I also don't want to give up an opportunity to work in the PICU at CCF. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Never hurts to interview!!!!

UH has a better pediatric program than CCF, in my opinion. I worked at UH as an aide but work at CCF now as an RN. I know UH is bringing back shift differential pay for all shifts, including weekends. Depends if you want better pay (UH) or better benefits (CCF).

I have worked for both. I currently am with UH and could not be happier. CCF has a reputation for eating up nurses and spitting them out. To Toby nurses are expendable. It is a very negatie environment and nurses are always looking over their shoulders. UH treats its employees much better. The one benefit to the Clinic is the benefits. Outside of health insurance costs, the benefits at UH (retirement accounts, etc) are pretty comparable. Metro has the best of both worlds, good pay, inexpensive insurance, and an excellent retirement plan. Only catch is you cannot be an ADN, you must have a BSN to work at Metro.
