Is the tease the Main thing they look at?

I think it comes down to the reading portion of the TEAS and the GPA of all the prereqs. That's what I was told.

Hello good morning, just checking in to see ho everyone waiting is going so far?

Counting down until March... luckily exams are keeping me occupied. I also got 2 scholarships from the college for this semester :) Hoping for more once I'm full time - hopefully - in the fall.

Congrats on your scholarships. Maybe you can use them for the nursing program.

Sorry to be the one always posting, but I dropped by the SHP office today and I was informed that they are wrapping up their decisions. So, it seems like we should be hearing from them sooner rather than later. I spoke with m advisor and she said that the evening and weekend section is most popular. Lastly, they look heavily at the reading portion of your TEAS score.

Omg!! Im so anxious. I have a 4.0 Gpa overall and a 4.0 in science:m. But im still nervous

You have nothing to worry about , you GpA is fine.

Hi, I’m not applying to the ADN program yet, but I had a few questions as a aspiring nursing student who will be starting their nursing journey this fall or summer. I asked so many people already, but I’m going to ask again anyway. should I got to a 4 year, like Pitt or temple, and pay about 95k for all years or go to CCBC?
And were the prereqs hard? Like how is anatomy and physiology 1&2 and micro. I took anatomy and physiology in freshman year, but I’m sure college A&P is way harder.
How are the TEAS? I hate standardized testing and studying for ACT was a pain in my ***, it took everything in me to pop out a 28.
Lastly, is the ADN program competitive?
It would really help for any guidance.
Thanks ?

1. It depends on what experience you are looking for. If you want to spend four years getting your nursing degree and if you have access to funding to pay for that education. If you just want to get it done quick and get into the industry without spending so much, I'd suggest a community college. To frame the price, I applied to the ATB program so it'll cost around, lets say $30k once you factor in tuition, supplies and books as a rough estimate if you choose Stevenson as your ATB school. Substantially less than $95k. But if you have the funds and you want to, a 4 year experience is a great one to have.

2. The difficulty of the prereq's to me depends on how you operate. Both AP's were really interesting to me, so I enjoyed the flow and information. As long as you can keep up with the material you'll be fine. All the science prereq's move pretty quickly too so keep that in mind.

3. The TEAS honestly should be the least of your worries. The test to me was very much so common sense type of questions. If you've been educated here in the US, you should be fine. I would recommend that you do at least some type of review just so that you get the flow of the exam.

4. I can't speak for an ADN program, but as far as a RN goes I'd say the program is going to be competitive no matter where you go. The one specifically at ccbc I was told around 200-300 people apply for any given start date. Between Catonsville and Essex they only accept 120 people. That's 60 seats for all programs at either location. So there will be competition, but it's probably more if you apply to a 4 year institution.

Good luck to everyone!
