I finally got my acceptance letter! :thankya:I'll be attending the Boyce campus. I know if I got my acceptance letter today, then other CCAC students have as well. Share the good news!:yeah::w00t::balloons::balloons:
i dont know about boyce, but the allegheny campus nursing is a very sad place.
many of the clinical instructors have a very little respect for the students and are running a boot camp. however, what you as a student need to do is to speak with the dean. i had never experience such a miserable place in my life. since i am about to graduate i don't care much, but i would never ever do it with them again. why the teaching nurses are such miserable b*** it remains a mystery to me.
Where did you hear that from? How are they racist? I go to Boyce and I've never heard that before.
Well, I heard that from someone who used to teach nursing at CCAC and a student who's chosen not to come to CCAC for nursing cause she passed the PSB for Shadyside. I went to international schools in Switzerland so, I am more comfortable with some diversity. What is it like at Boyce campus? Do you feel like you're sitting in an outdated classroom? Are your teachers helpful?

did you get very much out of your clinical training?
Most of the instructors teach very little. They expect you to know things without a chance to try it on a patient first. I dont know how about you but I dont learn in fear and intimidation. They think if you had it in your lab you should already know it. They are very eager to punish you but they dont support you in your learning. I ve seen people in tears and being severly punished for things that could have been easly tought by the nurse instructor if she really cared about teaching. Of course there are some exceptions and some good instructors, but good luck getting one! :).

Hi. As far as the NET score you will have to contact the North Campus directly. This is where they process their applications. Child abuse clearance you will need to mail in. It takes up to 4 weeks to get i back same with criminal background. Best is to call the nursing dept directly for instructions. Good luck

If you go on the CCAC website and type Nurse application 2010 the updated packet will come up and it will tell you what to do step by step. I am also stressed cause there were strange things on my transcript that weren't understood by the college. I had high school overseas and the Educational Credential Evaluators translated my transcripts and caused some confusion over my Chemistry. The school said it's OK but, I still want it corrected. You can contact EriWorld. They should be able to send a copy of the NET results. And to add to the stress, the application cut-off date has been moved from March, up to February instead!
Good luck! I'm also applying to South for Fall '10. I'm very nervous, between reading horror stories from nurses (and students) on here, and so many people applying for spring they had to turn down eligible applicants. I have a 3.3 GPA, A&P 1 B, A&P2 A, and 90% NET. I feel pretty confident, but I just can't wait to have confirmation. I also lost some of my records, and once I found them, made sure to keep them together in a file where I can always find them again.
