Catholic Hospital West ???

I received a job offer from CWH in the Sacramento area. Methodist and Mercy Hospital in Folsom.

They said they offer a sign on bonus and relocation reimbursment.

I live in Indiana, am married and have 4 children.

I am blown away by this offer. I don't know what to do.

Here [in Indiana] my husband makes $38,000.00 I am not employed yet. But according to my husband we should make about $79,000.00 yr. I went to the sites and salary.com We would need to make $132,000!!!

Any and all advise will be greatly appreciated!!

Your husband is probably right. That particular area is very expensive to live in. In fact all that area is expensive. I live in an area about 1-2 hours east of there in a very little town. I love living there, but I work in SoCal because that is where I came from 8 years ago and work at the same hospital, 28 years. I commute back and forth every other weekend and don't mind it. I go over to Folsom to go shopping and such and it is really beggining to become quite congested. California is going to be quite a shock for someone from Indiana so I would look quite hard at any offers from any Calif hospital. Put everything into perspective and think hard on whether it is for your best interest to move clear across the country. Good luck, Mike
