Case Western Reserve Graduate Entry Fall 2020

Published

Hello all!

I wanted to start a thread for those of us who may be applying to the Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing for their MN Grad Entry program. I have not seen anyone who has applied, so I feel a bit like I'm flying blind here.

Anyone else?

Hey all,

I had my video interview on the 10th, and received my acceptance letter the next day.

That's awesome! So I will see you in the fall! Also, are you planning to continue to the MSN for midwifery after the MN program? That's the path I'm hoping for and given the midwife98 I'm just guessing ? I think we will be good study buddies!

@midwife98 Feb 10 or January 10? I only ask because I had my interview on Feb 11 and i havent heard anything yet, so that's probably not the best sign for me. ? But congrats to the both of you!

@OctaviaF I interviewed on Feb. 10. I surprised that I received a decision so soon, as I could not read my interviewer. Don't let your nerves get the best of you. Good luck!

That was actually the same day I received my acceptance so it may just be that they send them in particular batches. I interviewed in person on 1/24.

I just want to know! I'm hoping for the best. Most of the other schools I have applied to, don't let applicants know until the March 1. It's so close.

I received my application today and I've been accepted! Yay!!! I'm still waiting to hear about my other schools, but I'm so pleased to have gotten in!

Wondering if I can get some opinions from you guys. I was accepted into Case's program earlier this year and I fully planned on going. However, looking at the cost of tuition for the 2 years, my family's high EFC, and the small amount that hospitals pay for tuition reimbursement, I am second guessing whether it's worth it to take out loans for that much money. I am now highly considering Cleveland State's accelerated BSN program that would start later, but end at the same time, and then applying to Case for their MSN program later.

Is this a horrible idea? Is Case's program really that much better and worth the money?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello! I know finical choices can be hard when deciding this kind of thing. I wish I could give you a very clear answer. I think there are a couple things to consider when making this choice, like the difference in end pay for a BSN versus an MSN I think what is the most important though is if you want to go on and possibly get your NP. If this is the case, even though it is more time and more money, Case Western might be a better choice since some of the credits form the graduate program transfer over. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if there is an accepted students facebook group?

Thank you! I keep going back and forth. I was so excited about Case...but I don't seem to be able to give a valid argument for choosing that cost over CSU's program. What could be that much better about it? Both the MN program at Case and Accelerated BSN program at CSU end in Spring 2022, and you still end up with a BSN for each so should get the same starting salary as an RN.

Looking into further education, which I would definitely be doing, I know you get 15 credits toward the MSN while you're in the MN program, but that's not too much and maybe it's worth the extra time to pay so much less to get the BSN at a cheaper school.

Ah I can't decide LOL!

Hi I am wondering how you talked about this in your essay / interview? I have the same situation with being in another program but wanting to attend case entry level master’s.
