Case Western Graduate Entry Program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hello!

Tried looking for info about case western but there isn't much out there. I was accepted into their graduate entry program and was wondering what people thought about it?

Anything would help, thanks!

I just applied to Case Western and am waiting for my last letter of rec. so that's why I didn't hear back yet.

Hm strange. I emailed back but haven't gotten a response. The email was

My name is ****** and I am a member of the admissions committee for the Graduate Entry MN program here at CWRU/Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. I am to interview you for possible admission to our program. Since you live in California AND a very different time zone, we need to coordinate a mutually acceptable time for us to talk!

Please send me your availabilities for the next week and what time (in your time zone) that is best for you to talk. I will look at the options and pick a day and time for us to talk and then email you when I would be calling.

I look forward to talking with you.

This was a lot earlier than I thought!

Well they have rolling admissions and the application isn't technically due till April 2015. So I guess whoever applies will get their application reviewed quickly afterwards. When did you submit?

I think I submitted last month or something. I just wanted to get all of the apps out of the way

It would be nice to visit the Midwest for the first time in my life but I doubt I can afford this after I fly to UPenn this weekend... :p

It seems like my phone interview will be on Thursday morning. I wonder if anyone reading this topic is already in the program and has any insight on what this particular program will ask.

They ask you basic questions like why you want to be a nurse, why this particular program etc. They also asked me about stuff in my personal statement and resume. I felt like the interview was pretty casual and seemed more like a conversation than an interview.

Were the questions about the personal statement and resume in a lot of detail? I suppose I can look up more about the program itself later.

Yup they asked me about specific experiences on my resume and statement.

Phone interview is over! took me about 48 minutes

It went OK except for the part where she asked me about how I see the MN portion (generalist) different from MSN. I forgot to research that so I just said whatever my impressions were, so there were some inaccuracies... Oops

Well, it seems like I may get results around next month!

Omg I don't know the answer to that either! I think it's just that you haven't specialized yet and haven't taken the specific courses for your specialization.

So I got an interview for next Friday!!!!! I turned in my application Dec. 1st and they got back to me fairly quickly! :)
