case management interview at Samuel Merritt

Published

I was just called to be scheduled for an interview for the case management program at Samuel Merritt. Any pointers on how to prepare for this interview?

I'm in the same boat! I know that for FNP they do group interviews; do you know if it's the same for Case Management? The email said three staff members but didn't say how many applicants per session.

Specializes in Vascular Surgery.

They're looking for someone who can be well rounded and interact with people from all different kinds of backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures.

I don't know if it's a group interview for CM. I guess we'll find out!

I got the same call. Does anyone know what type of questions they ask during the interview???

I think most people who have gone through this interview process are tight lipped about it. So I'll guess we'll find out!

Lewisfam, did you apply for the Sacramento campus or the one in the Bay Area? I applied for the Sacramento campus.

I completely understand that. Just wondering if there is anyway to prepare. I applied to the Sacramento campus for both the CM and ABSN. The waiting is horrible.

I applied to the Sacramento CM and ASBN as well.

I wonder what their selection criteria is? I have wonderful grades but only 6 months of volunteer experience at UC Davis Med Center. I have an 4.0 in the last 60 credits of college, 4.0 in the science pre-reqs, 88% composite score on the TEAS and then the little bit of volunteer stuff. I hope that's good enough to get in!

Specializes in Home Care, Wound Care, LTC, Mom-baby.

Hello,

Just curious-I am currently a CCM-certified case manager and have been for a few years. What type of program is the cm program-it is entry level or advanced degree? Is it recommended by CSMA or any other CM association? just wondering if it would benefit someone who is already a RN, CCM-thanks !

The case management program that we are applying for is an entry level program for people who don't currently have a RN. With this program, students will get the RN and also a master's degree in case management.

I had my CM interview yesterday and afterward the Dean (Dr. Abbott) invited me to be part of the next cohort, and she even hugged me! She said I'd receive a formal letter in the next few days. I'm so excited!

Congratulations! I have my interview tomorrow and am quite nervous. I hope I can get all the right words out of my mouth. LOL. Again...Congrats!
