Hi Jaggy. I'm from the Philippines and had undergone the same process.
Processing time varies depending on two factors. First is the number of applicants being processed because assessment is done by batches (as per my sister-in-law whom I authorized to be my representative in Canada). Second is the evaluation itself which is done by a panel (i suppose the availability of each panelist matters too).
In my case, I was informed that my papers are already with them on the 3rd week of October. Evaluation commenced on the 19th of November and a decision letter (thru email) was forwarded to my authorized representative on that same day. I received my hard copy 2 months after, due to the long holiday.
That is all I can share for now. If you have further questions, I will be glad to answer them.
Good luck! :nuke:
Hi Jaggy:
My wifes application has been ready for assessment since November. By contacting them I found out that they have been really busy and it might take another month for us to get any decision. All we can do now is just wait patiently and be glad that we filled our applications at the right time. It migth take longer for applicants who are starting their process now.
Have you already contacted Calgary Health for a job. I was wondering if I should contact them now or wait till I get my registration.
Have a great day.

hi truper! thanks for the info:
may i ask.. please list down all the forms you sent to carna applicable to us philippine nurses as international applicants..
what do you mean that application is assessed by batches? is there a good or better time to send an application?
thanks!
CARNA informed me my file was complete & was in line for processing. They said it would take around 10 weeks.
I got to speak to someone yesterday and same as you. Looks like I should hear by Mid Feb (so that'll be around about the 10 week mark) so hopefully hear soon.
:plsebeg:
Thanks for all your input.

Hi there, I've applied to CARNA for assessment in order that I may apply for a temporary permit to work in alberta.
I'm wondering if anyone else out there knows the current timescale for receipt of the outcome of your assessment.
When I did finally get a reply from somone in CARNA (I know they are busy with applicaitons) she confirmed that my file went for assessment on 4 December 2007, so it's been 8 weeks. I've tried on numerous occassions to telephone and email and still have had no reply on where I am in the obviously looooong queue and if anyone else has an idea on how long it takes to receive a letter of the decison.
Sorry the wait is driving me (and my OH) nuts!
Thanks
JT
