"Carleton University students have decided to pull out of a Canada-wide fundraiser that provides close to $1 million a year for cystic fibrosis research, given that the disease "has been recently revealed to only affect white people, and primarily men."

Now I don't want to start a Carleton University bashing thread as this is the choice of a few individuals and not the entire campus...but I am appalled...what's next? No Breast Cancer fundraisers?

I read this in the paper today - I think it's terrible. Does that mean no-one should raise money for sickle cell anaemia research?? Or other such illnesses that don't affect "everyone?"
This is the world going mad!! I hope no other Uni does such a stupid, stupid thing!
