Carilion Ranks Among Nation's Top 50 Health Systems
Friday, April 15, 2005
Of the country's 566 health systems, Carilion Health System ranks in the top 50, according to Verispan, a leading healthcare information company.
According to Verispan's Integrated Health Network survey, Carilion ranks 41st, and is one of only five Virginia hospital systems in the top 100. Verispan ranked healthcare organizations based on their services, access, financial stability, integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, hospital utilization and physicians.
Five Carilion hospitals have also been recognized for quality achievement by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia.
As part of its Quality-In-Sights Hospital Incentive Program, Anthem awarded $6 million to 16 Virginia hospitals for major advances in patient care and safety, including Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital, Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Yay us. I've worked for Carilion off and on for over 20 years. Now I'm back with them to stay. Unfortunately the hospital I work in is joint owned. Carilion and Centra. Well, not unfortunately. We get money and improvements from both systems and all area doctors are "in network" for our insurance LOL
