I am about to take the test to become certified as a caregiver in order to work wih Alzheimer's residents in a LTC facility. I seem to have no talent for reading Blood Pressure, though I'm confident I could master it eventually. Does anyone know if I'll be denied certification until I can take BP with a cuff and stethoscope or maybe for "caregiver" the standard is lower (maybe it's done with an automated device?). The written test seems like it would be relatively easy and as far as I can tell, there is no class or training to teach the practical skills; that's what led me to wonder if maybe this is below CNA and maybe less is required and they assume you'll learn certain things on the job. Thank you for your help.
