Career and Family

I am not in nursing school yet but I would like to hear from some nursing students. Is anyone out there going to nursing school and raising small children at the same time? I'd like to hear how you fit everything in from day to day and any tips you may have.

I have a 3 yr old and a husband, and just graduated RN school. It's more difficult than being single (I did that too- graduated LPN school with a boyfriend), but it can be done. Make sure you have some backup childcare when the kids get sick or can't go to school/daycare, and at least once a month mandate a day off from studying/school and spend it with the family together- or you'll go insaine.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks so much. It's good to know that it CAN be done. Thanks for the advice.

It definitely can be done. I just graduated in May as well and have two children one of them being on the autism spectrum. It can be difficult but from my experience by being a mother you are forced to make the most of you time. I think for me it was easier then my peers who had no children because it was easier for them to procrastinate.
