I live in Miami, Florida and enrolled to begin my Master's Degree in Psychology this fall 09, currently $34,000 in debt from school loans and will probably add 17,000 more after I finish my Master's degree and get licensed in mental health in 5 yrs. Now I am considering not going because I have doubts that I will be happier learning nursing instead. I am also a certified massage therapist and I know I love to help people feel better and I know Im not afraid of being around the sick or dieing. I have taken care of sick people before when their own family did not want to; so the only thing that held me back was fear of not passing my courses (although I maintained a 3.5 in school) but alot of schools want full-time track. I can't quit my job because I'm a single parent of 2 teenagers who rely totally on me because their dad skipped town. So its up to me to get ahead. Does anyone have any suggestions on my issue? Other people suggested getting a Master's in Social Work instead. I want to love to do my job but a decent income also would help.
