Hi! I'm new here and found that there is a lot of useful information on here for a ever learning student. I in my 4th semester of school and the OB/Peds rotation. Only 2 more to go and I graduate! And I having some problems with finding information regarding uterine rupture and writing a care plan for it.
I have a question regarding writing a care plan dealing with uterine rupture. We got an assignment to write a care plan for uterine rupture and given no information, just look it up and figure it out kind of deals. I know how to write a care plan and all but the problem I am having is finding information in my textbooks and other resources about uterine rupture. My textbook only gives 2 paragraphs about it and nothing to relate into subjective and objective data. I also am having a problem coming up with an appropiate nursing diagnosis. I so far came up with "Risk of injury to mother and fetus r/t hemorrhage". Would that even be appropiate for uterine rupture? Also what interventions would you do for a uterine rupture besides a c-section?
Any kind of feedback and info would be helpful. I'm just kinda at a wall with this one care plan.
Thanks!

Think about what a uterine rupture is and how it would affect the mother (and baby).
Yes, she'd bleed. What else?
What happens to the baby if it's not delivered?
Just think about the process...

there are a whole bunch of ob weblinks listed on this sticky thread: https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/medical-disease-information-258109.html - medical disease information/treatment/procedures/test reference websites. the best sites to check for information are emedicine and the brookside press.
the nursing interventions would target the symptoms just as the doctors also target the symptoms. i would list out the symptoms and, if necessary, look each up in my nursing textbooks for information on how to handle the nursing interventions. you can also use the sweethaven online obstetrics textbook for specific nursing interventions (http://ged.free-ed.net/sweethaven/medtech/obsnewborn/default.asp - obstetric and newborn care). good luck!
