What is known about a calcified estachian valve showing up on TEE? Big deal or not?

patient has history of PE , risk factor of obesity and HTN, recent episode of syncope. Work up showed a negative stress test and cardiac enzymes.

The Eustachian Valve is a cardiac remnant of the fetal circulation located in the right atrium of the heart.  It is usually a benign finding but may occasionally be associated with emboli, thrombi, tumors, vegetations, and may also make interventional procedures of the heart more challenging or impossible without resection.

Yes I was wondering with vegetation or calcification if anticoagulants are recommended?

Good question!  Not sure, I'm not a cardiologist but would guess anticoagulation is dependent upon its relative size, morphology (bacterial vegetation vs emboli), mobility, and location.
