Hello to all on this Nursing Journey!!

I have been accepted to CCC's Nursing program for Fall 2015 after being called off the wait list.

Application stats were

A&P 1 - A

Nrsg GPA - 3.1

TEAS V : 67.4

Wait List # 13

I wanted to start a thread for those who got accepted (CONGRATS!) there also in hopes that we can all share our experience on this journey-and to those who have gone before us, your insight and advice would be most welcome!! This could be a great source for all of us new comers, and a source of guidance for those who will follow our footsteps in the cycles to come. We are all on a new path to the rest of our lives and this journey is one that requires dedication, commitment, blood-sweat-tears, and lots of SUPPORT!

I salute you!!!

Hi Crista! Congrats on getting in we will be seeing each other in the fall! Is it possible to private message somehow so we could actually get to know each other better? I'm also curious about the books we need for NUR 101. On commnet, it states that we only need one medication dosage book, but it seems to me that there should be more, maybe someone on here could clarify that for me. Lot's of luck, this is exciting!

Hi CT Future RN!! Thank you and congrats to you as well!! Yes we will be seeing each other! I have seen that there is a way to private message on here, but i haven't figured out how to do it yet. At this point i don't know much about what we need as far as books. Hopefully some others will follow this feed and give some input!! I have SO many questions! At this point, I don't really know anything, except that I was told I will be receiving an email next week with my instructions. My student advisor also strongly recommend i get Micro out of the way this summer because it is very hard to take with Nursing 101. Unfortunately, Micro for this summer at Capital is full for the evening Micro class. I cant take the day class because I work full time. IDK what i'm going to do. If i'm unable to get a spot in Micro, I will just have to prepare myself for a war come this fall!

Check this out on how to send a private message. Although not in this case just be aware that members have to have 15 or more posts to be able to send a pm

Hello. I am just curious. Did you already get a letter that you have been accepted to RN nursing program for CCC college for fall 2015? I applied but today I received the letter that the will review application and let everyone know by May 29. How come you were able to find out already. ? Thanks

Hi Everyone! Congratulations on getting accepted! I was also wait listed and was notified last week a spot opened up... Yay! I was wondering if any of you know if the microbiology credit expires? I took it a while back and I'm not sure if I have to retake it. I also work full time and also noticed all the evening summer classes are full. Christa J I may be in the same boat as you and going crazy this fall :)

Hello everyone!

I was also accepted to Capital's program for this fall! I'm so excited but also extremely nervous. I'm taking Micro over the summer to try and just get it out of the way. I finished all my other pre-reqs so micro is all I have left. I can't wait to meet you all at orientation!

Does anyone know what the week to week schedule is? I know we have 2 days of clinical but I was wondering if anyone has spoken to past students to see what it's like. I am just trying to figure out what my work schedule will be. :) thanks

Hi Christa!

I, too, will be joining you on August 31st on the top floor of Capital Community College. I was fortunate to get in on the first try but I worked my A@! off to get there!

To answer Kobrien's question about Micro.....micro credit lasts a looooong time. They accepted mine from my freshman year of college (1st time round) which was 16 years ago.

Hi Everyone,

I know this is probably not the right forum for me, but I just wanted to ask those who got accepted about gpa. I'm applying this year for the first time. I got As in Chem and Bio, and B in Math, I'm currently working on Anatomy 1 and CSA. Do I have a chance if I get As in Anatomy 1 and CSA? I haven't taken the TEAS yet. I just wanted a feel of how high your nursing gpa has to be to get in. Thank you so much in advance for your help.

I know this is a long while back, but I wanted to ask you GiustinaSchiano what your experience was taking microbiology as a summer course. Is it very difficult in a shorter semester? I was considering it for Summer 2017. Thank you!
