Capella university

Published

I would like to know if a bsn from capella university is accepted for a crna at other schools. I am a foreign trained nurse and have an rn license in the usa and working for almost 2 years. I tried to go to a brick and mortar school for bsn so as to keep my options open in future for dnp or crna but they're trying to make me go back to do nursing prerequisites for 2 years before even starting bsn . Capella on the other hand would transfer my foreign education but i don't want to go to a school that is considered not subpar with other nursing schools. Any information on capella will be appreciated and my most concern is using bsn from capella university at other schools for msn programs like crna or dnp.

Thanks ya'll.

All schools are good and will teach you the material. Anyone who says otherwise is just bragging about their degrees. Even for colllege degrees, I know know for a fact I received a much better education when I took community collge classes in high school than taking classes at a private university with a good reputation.

Specializes in GENERAL.

Go to (collegescorecard.ed.gov). Be careful who you talk with. Many schools, especially the for-profits, will sell you the primrose path. Go to reputable schools with good grad and retention rates. By the way, the vaunted CCNE stamp of approval is a marketing come-on and only indicative of any school's meeting minimum academic standards.

Be very discerning when looking at schools, come to your own conclusions and most of all avoid the snake oil salespeople's sweet talk. ( they get training)

Remember it's your time and especially money and if a school doesn't perform but asks you to, this is a major "red light." Here again, I refer to grad and retention metrics. Good luck.

Thanks a million for all your replies. That's very enlightening
