I am not sure the specifics of visas, and I don't know off-hand if Alabama requires a SSN in order to apply for licensure, but you will want to look into how you will get a work visa in order to be eligible to work in the US. You'll want to research which one you may be eligible for coming from Canada (my understanding is that it may be easier for Canadians than other nationalities, but I am not an expert on this).

Hello!
So I am graduating from a four-year RN program in British Columbia, Canada this June. We are required to write the NCLEX here to get registration, so I am doing that in June as well. I want to move to Alabama as my boyfriend of 4 years lives there, but I am a new graduate. Does anyone have any advice for me for this process? Recruitment agencies? Success stories?
Thank you in advance!
