Canadian RPN trying to register in Texas

Hi! I have been trying to get licensed in Texas for almost a year now. The delay started with CGFNS (that's a whole other post) but now it's a TX BON issue. I am a Canadian Registered Practical Nurse. I graduated from a two year program in Ontario, obtaining a diploma in Practical Nursing. I passed my registration exams and practiced for three years in Ontario Canada. I worked in Mes/surg,surgical oncology, complex continuing care and floated at times to the ER. The TX BON is saying that my Canadian education isn't equivalent to the one required in Texas for Vocational nursing, even though the Canadian program is a whole year longer. Regardless, they are requiring that I complete a course in care of children, and clinical hours in care of children and maternal/infant nursing. Has anyone from Ontario Canada obtained licensing in Texas? If so, what was you experience? Were you required to complete any additional courses or clinical hours? And if you were, which schools did you go through. I live in the DFW area and have not had any success finding a school that will allow me to take just one course and complete the clinical hours needed. Also, for those educated in Texas. Did you complete clinical placements in every area of nursing? It seems pretty difficult to do clinical rotations, in med/surg, maternal/infant, peds, geriatrics and so on in only a year but the BON said it is a requirement for every vocational nurse. Please help!
