Hello Everyone!
I have been working for 2 years, 1 year oncology /medicine and 1 year cardiology/telemetry/medicine.
I wrote my NCLEX to travel nurse in the USA but unfort. when I apply to a variety of agencies they tell me if I want to stay in cardiology specialty I need to have more then 2 years of experience due to the economy right now!
I am so eager to travel right now! I was considering overseas to the UK. Can anyone give me some advice? Is there a hiring freeze there too? Its hard to get a job in Canada too right now, I want to move to a larger city to a more specialized unit but no one is hiring! Its crazy! I thought nurses would always be in DEMAND!!!
I know you have to pass an english test before going through all the requirements to nurse in the UK. But is there a point to pay for all these requirements if I cant even get a job! The NCLEX wasn't cheap and it was so time consuming and now I cant even use it!!!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Leanne

unless you meet the shortage occupation list you are going to find it hard to get a work permit for the UK.
What is the shortage occupatio n list?
Even if you gain experience in the shortage area you will still be competing with UK and EU nurses before you. Jobs everywhere are hard and the UK has it's highest unemployment rate for several years and the government has spoken several times in making it harder if not from the EU to move and work in the UK
UK shortage list
Have you considered applying direct to hospitals in the US to work with your experience and you do meet TN requirements if RN?
