Canadian RN lost in translation... help!

Published

Hello all,

Since graduating from school in Ontario as an RN, I've been underwhelmed with my current position. I am looking into a change, especially if it means relocation. I've been looking into nursing in the United States, especially Texas. My concern is that I do not know anyone and am apprehensive about moving to a completely different country with a whole new medical system and government. Are there any other Canadian trained RNs currently working in Texas that can provide some insight into this for me?

I have also been considering becoming a travel nurse in either Canada or the US, but again am not sure what this all entails. Do any of you lovely nurses out there wish to give me some information and advice to help me figure out what I want to do in the future?

Thanks in advance! :)

Why are you disappointed in being a nurse and why do you think it will be different/better in Texas?

I'm not disappointed, I am just looking for a change in scenery... Both work wise and location wise.
