Beside the rationales on the CNA prep guide, CNA list at least two references for each question. Those are good reference books as well.
Another reference pdf. is the code of ethics--search on the CNA website.

thanks 27400, i try to read everyday now, but the more more i read, the more i think that i don't know everything, so nervous right now.

What is the BEST way to check NG tube placement?
PH?
Insufflation and auscultation?
X-ray?
X-ray... NEVER insufflation and auscultation--that is NOT best practice according to P&P. Everytime you insert an NG tube you should get an Xray done. When you're using the NG tube for something like giving meds do the pH testing.

I just want to add information about NG tube placement.
For confirmation--- INITIAL--- X-RAY
---for subsequent and/ or displaced---pH strip----if pH
----if pH >5--another X-RAY should be done

CNA publishes bulletins with statistics on CRNE pass rates
The lowest pass rate for Canadian educated nurses was 90% in 2009 and the highest was 96% in 2005
The lowest pass rate for Internationally educated nurses was 49% in 2004 and the highest was 71% in 2007
