Hi everyone,
I am a new grad who is looking to move out of my province in Ontario and down to Texas to nurse (amongst other things) and I was wondering if anybody had any pointers or tips on what to do and how to end up there?
From my understanding, I need to pay a registration fee for the Texas license, pay for a company to verify my credentials and then pay for a fingerprint scan and write another jurisprudence exam? I may be wrong but it is what I gathered from various sources online. Any help is appreciated,
Thanks in advance.

Check the state BON requirements for Internatioal Educated Nurses. Once you have registration sorted then you start looking for a employer willing to go TN route
Hey Silver Dragon, thanks for the prompt response. Would I need to fill out what they call an "Endorsement form"? Texas Board of Nursing - Endorsement ? Will delete the link if it is not allowed

No you can only endorse a license from another US BoN. You would be applying for a nursing license by examination as an internationally educated nurse and indicate you passed the nclex in Canada
I have been told that you can register for a license through endorsement if you have passed the NCLEX-RN in Canada. That being said, it looks like my next steps would be completing and mailing in the endorsement form, getting a credentials evaluation, criminal background check, fingerprint scan and finally writing the jurisprudence exam. It seems like quite the process and there really isn't much online to go off of
The website is very clear that only US nursing licenses may be endorsed. You should not have to retake the NCLEX. This is the application you need to complete:

you graduated outside the US step by step is here:

Hi
Im also a canadian RN looking to be endorsed in texas and i would appreciate any pointers you may have in regards to the process. I wrote the NCLEX here in canada. I am about to send in my endosrement applicaton with the fee but i am confused about the fingerprint/criminal records check process. Did you have to wait till your temporary license was issued before starting the criminal records check or did you do it at the same time you sent your endorsement application? im just confused as to how to get the fingerprint card to canada?
As well, how long did the whole process take for you?
Thank you

Are you already registered with a US state? If not then you can not endorse. You start with application for exam and then arrange for NCLEX results to be forwarded
i called the texas bon and they told me that they honored my NCLEX RN exam and that i should start by sending in an endorsement application form with the fee.
But usually endorsing license is from one US state to another. I would double check and maybe get something in writing
