Canadian NCLEX

Published

Hey everyone, the NCLEX is new to Canada and I'm wondering what everyone found worked best for studying content and then practicing questions. I have heard UWorld and Kaplan are a similar design and really makes people feel comfortable when sitting to write and that Saunders and hurst are good for content (not so good for questions)

Did you find one review over another better? If so which one and why?

Even if you passed or failed is there anything about how you studied you would change and why?

NCLEX passing questions are supposed to be at a higher level, did you find any particular review provided the same level of difficulty as the actual NCLEX?

as a student and you probably all know that NCLEX preps can become expensive, so I'm just wanting to gather what worked best for those have already wrote and what helps and what doesn't. I understand everyone's learning style is different so it's great to hear from everyone.

Thanks in in advance for your comments and advice

Hi :)

I just passed mine in Canada. I liked Saunders for content review, but it's dry, so I concentrated on areas I felt I needed to review.

I used UWorld as well, and I will say the questions are challenging and more similar to NCLEX. I think it's the best value for money Q bank.

If I were to change anything about how I studied, it would have been to keep the same drive I had when starting at the end. I had been highly organized, using a focused approach. I got tired and bored. But i made myself continue answering at least 50 to 100 questions a day even if I didn't do content review.

Thank your for the advice and congrats on passing the nclex :).

I have tried the 1 week free trial and found the uworld questions sometimes quite difficult

Congrats Ontnursec, I passed too! I knew we could do it :)

I used SAUNDERS and read it over the course of a month (was not easy but I was determined to pass first time). I also used passpoint, the prioritization, delegation and management book for questions and KAPLAN premier for questions/strategies. I just wrote my exam on Saturday and finished in 75 questions. My heart rate was probably 180 the entire time, I took 2 hours and I found out I passed today :)

If I had any suggestions it would be to register for the free passpoint free trial (2 weeks) and see where you're at with the nclex practice exam and go from there.

Congrats Ontnursec, I passed too! I knew we could do it :)

I'm so glad! We did good! :)
