Bachelor of Science in Nursing vs. Bachelor of Nursing ( McGill University)

Hi there,

I live in Montreal and want to apply to college(CEGEP). I am very interested in Nursing but am a little confused as to which program I should do in college to eventually lead me to university to get my bachelor. Admission to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing requires a DEC in science and admission to the Bachelor of Nursing requires a DEC in Nursing. The Bachelor of Nursing is an integrated program at McGill. (DEC in Nursing and then you do 2 years at McGill). The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not integrated, it is DEC in Science which is 2 years in college and then you do 3 years at McGill.

Both bachelors seem good but is there one that is a better then the other ? I am just a little confused what I should take. Thank you

The BN you take least science that the BScN,it's probably because you already did your science. Take a nursing diploma, since your code R to get in nursing at McGill is only 25,7 and it's not that competitive comparing the regular one. Still study for high marks. Good luck.

Forgot from last comment, they are both the same thing. None of them is better that the other. You're a nurse at the end.

Yep! Both options are almost the same except either you spend 2 years in university and 3 in CEGEP or 3 in university and 2 in CEGEP. If you choose the 2 year CEGEP option you need to take health or pure and applied sciences to be able to apply to uni in nursing. Personally I'm choosing the 3 year CEGEP option as university is more expensive and you avoid all the unnecessary classes not related to nursing (which in my opinion are harder to get high grades in).
