Hey guys. I had positioning on the right side as part of my skills. What I'm asking is, I put the side rail back down when I was finished... even though she was on her side. Will they fail me for that? I also didn't say "make sure they maintain correct body alignment". I'm so depressed because I'm a nursing student and I should know better so it'll be even more embarrassing if I fail.
Thanks.

Here where I live you are allowed to miss a certain number of steps. However, if one of those steps were in bold you had to say/do it, if not you automatically failed. Good luck.

However, I would be surprised if you had to SAY 'maintain good body alignment' but rather you probably just needed to make sure that is what you were doing as you repositioned them. Many LTC facilities (at least where I live) don't even have side rails as the state considers that a restraint (so why they have it as a step on the exam I have absolutely do idea...) so it is not a step that is in bold. I'm sure you did great and you sound like someone who was truly prepared for the exam, but its just that your nerves got in the way. Good luck! When do you find out if you passed?

Thank you! Unfortunately, in the state of Ohio you have to actually say that you are checking it and that's bolded. I walked out of there feeling like i did great and passed and then looked at that and felt devastated. My tester seemed really laid back and didn't even sit and look at her sheet as i did it... she walked around and talked to the actor! So i'm hoping that maybe she didn't catch it..because if she did i'll be so upset.I didn't take a class because I didn't have to, but i feel like i stressed out a lot over this and really tried hard to practice. I just don't want to have to pay the $71 or whatever it is to retake the skills part because I'm on a strict budget as it is...& I'm in a BSN program so it would be so embarrassing if people found out that I failed a CNA exam. I don't want people in my CON looking down on me.. :/ Anyway. I'll let you know how i did. I should find out tomorrow :)
Clearly I'm not familiar with the CNA exam in Ohio...sorry! I'm in Wisconsin and here you don't have to say that you are checking it. I'm hoping and praying that you passed!
Thanks :)
Oh no, that's okay! Thanks :)
I passed!!!
Congratulations!! That is awesome! Yipee Hurray!! :-)
Thanks!! :-)
