Absolutely. The top RN (presumably the DON at most places) will have someone overseeing them. This person isn't often a RN.
Then you have some places where the DON isn't even a RN, but the ADON is. While the ADON isn't the one who is meeting with you for evaluations, it is the DON that is and their evaluation is most likely based on the ADON's feedback.
Some RN's don't like this because they believe that they shouldn't be evaluated by someone without at least the same designation. Their loss if they don't want to work underneath someone who is going to be oblivious to some things that go on because they aren't a nurse.

Hi every body,
I been a nurse for many years and worked in different departments. I always been evaluated by Rn ( manager, supervisor) when it was half a year or yearly evaluation. Recently I changed the job and now I work in the hospital as a care manager and my manager is a social worker. She already performed my first review/ evaluation of 90 days and soon we are going to have an yearly evaluations.
My question is RN can be evaluated by non RN professional?
And where can I find the rules if they exist.
Thanks everybody
