Medical Assistants, such as myself can be both licensed and unlicensed. Some people learn on the job and others go to school and get to take a national certification or registration exam. They can even get an Associate's Degree like I did. Now I'm going for RN...hope I get in!:) (currently a Registered MA and Registered Phlebotomy Tech through AMT.

" Can an RN delegate to a MA?" Yes. An RN can delegate to anyone as long as the task they are delegating is within the persons scope of practice. The RN has to know what that scope is, It will be different for a licensed vs and unlicensed person, vs. a MA with special training.
