Can a RN own a birth center?

I am looking into buying a existing birthing center and wanted to know if as a RN I could be the owner? I would keep the current midwife on staff and obviously have midwives as the providers. But would I be able to own and run the center as a RN without an advanced practice degree?

You should consult an attorney in your state, as answers will vary depending on the state

You’d need some way of evaluating practice, which you couldn’t do if you’re not a midwife. I agree, an atty specializing in this field would be a smart consult. Also call your state board that licenses such facilities and check their requirements for licensing them.

I think this is possible depending on current rules in different states. An experience attorney would be of great help here.
