Can permanent residents join the Army Nurse Corps as an officer?

Published

I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information out there. I'll have my BSN in 2016 and I was wondering if the Army would let me in as an officer with just a green card.

Again, to be quite clear, I used the Army's website's virtual sergeant star to get the information. If the information was old, it is not because I am "fond of posting old information," but rather it was the information given to me.

And to be quite clear, I'm telling the OP that the information you get from the Army's general website is not necessarily going to apply to them. Commissioning as an officer is different from enlisting. The Army's virtual sgt is geared toward enlisted recruitment, not officers.

Find an AMEDD (ANC) Recruiter:

Locate Us | goarmy.com

Select "Medical (AMEDD)" from the dropdown box.

This should expedite the process by taking you past the general recruiters and straight to the AMEDD folks. Medical recruiters are busy people, so don't expect a quick reply.

thanks all for all the help!
