  1. Hi guys I'm in my first session at Lafayette. So far it's pretty straightforward. You get weekly quizzes and 3 papers for the semester. They use Moodle which is similar to Blackboard. Did anyone here load up on more classes? I'm trying to take more than 6 credits during a semester, but I don't think the registration system lets me.
  2. I'm in NY and I've been looking to apply to out of state jobs maybe in CT, VA, or elsewhere. I am wondering how this process works. If I put my NY license on the application will they assume that I'll be endorsing my license to their state? I don't want to pay for the endorsement fees prematurely before securing a job elsewhere.
  3. I get a lot of conflicting info on that. But if you're submitting job applications through the Internet the HR algorithm won't pick up your resume to be reviewed if you don't have nursing related words on your resume.
  4. I made the resume two pages since I wanted to have a combination of nursing clinical experience & skills+ some of my work experience to highlight my transferable skills like customer service and team work. 5. I'm about to start the program in October. This is a great thread. I would love some more advice on what to prepare for the program! I can't believe this school accepted all my credits. I only need to do that english lit class which was the only non-nursing course I needed.
  6. Does anyone know if UoL takes CLEP for English Literature?
  7. Yes Pearson posts results on the weekend. My results posted Saturday afternoon about 49 hours after I took my test.
  8. I recommend Uworld it's a great system
  9. I think the combination helped me pass. Kaplan has excellent test taking strategies that help you "game" the system. Uworld just has a better test bank with more difficult questions.
  10. First off I highly recommend Uworld. They have the best qbank in the business. Their rationales are on point and all their questions are above the passing level. The Uworld questions were way harder than the actual NCLEX. Second off my school made us pay for the Kaplan package which includes the Qbank, Qtrainers, and all that other stuff. Kaplan is good for their strategies, but in my opinion the questions with Uworld were way better. I would still recommend Kaplan because they are more comprehensive in their strategies for the exam plus their content review is solid. I would recommend combining Kaplan and Uworld if you really want to pass the NCLEX. For reference I averaged about 53% on the Uworld exams, but I only did half their qbank. I did all the Kaplan questions and got 60% on their qbank. And I got 58% on Question Trainer #6 and 64.5% on Question Trainer 7.
  11. It's a public university system too right? So it's not even a for-profit system like Excelsior.
  12. RN to BSN Online Degree | UL Lafayette Online It's cheap, fully accredited, and only a year long. I can't seem to find anything wrong with this program.
  13. I only have my regular resume not my nursing resume. I have a question about work experience though. I have a lot of work experience not related to health but involving customer service. For example I worked as a bank teller for years. How can I tailor my work experience so the recruiter sees that I can work well with people and on a team?
  14. I'm gonna get started early on applying for jobs and send out my resumes now even though I graduate in June. How should I list my education and license? I know I'm guaranteed to graduate in June, but I may not take my NCLEX until July or even August. How should I label my expecting graduation and licensure dates?
